I finished this book the other day and it's taken some time to actually give it the proper rating. At first I was like "wow" 5 stars. Then I wanted to drop it down to two. It seemed unnecessary nasty. But finally I have gone with 4 stars. While the book was a horrifying, troubling look into the main characters the writing was great once I got used to the choppy sentences. I was shocked when I thought I had reached what I thought was the "ending". I was so sure Amma did it as soon as she made her second appearance in the book. I wasn't wrong as it turned out and the MBP seemed appropriate. The woman in the book were pathetic and highly manipulative. They were disturbing in a way that keeps you up at night but I liked that because so often that's toted as a "man thing." It was a welcome change of pace.
